Organic Quinoa- Your Organic Nature


This quinoa comes from the Chimborazo province in Ecuador. The cooperative has several dozen communities of hundreds of farmers who grow and trade quinoa through the cooperative. Quinoa has been cultivated as a food crop for thousands of years. It is sown in November – December and the harvest takes place from March to June, depending on the variety and the altitude of the farms. This quinoa has a nutty flavor and is a great substitute for rice, pasta or potatoes. Before cooking, rinse the quinoa again to exclude bitter taste. Use about 75 g per person and add twice as much water or stock. After 10 minutes of gentle cooking, let the quinoa stand for another 10 minutes.
